| Phenol and derivatives In terms of volume, the plastics industry is the primary consumer of NOVAPEX products including phenol, acetone and alpha-methyl-styrene. |
Main end-products are phenolic and epoxy resins for floor coatings, furnitures, paints, skis and glues ; polycarbonate material for compact or computer disks, organic glass for spectacles and aircraft side-lights ; and ABS heat-resisting resin using alpha-methyl-styrene in its manufacturing process.
 Textiles (polyamide) and the pharmaceutical industry (acetylsalicylic acid and paracetamol), are also phenol customers;
We supply acetone into numerous applications, as an organic solvent. In addition, it is used as intermediate in fine chemistry, for processing acrylic and polycarbonate polymers.
Cumene is used as a raw material for preparing crop protection chemicals.
 Paint and tire manufacturers are interested in cumene-hydroperoxyde, for the special properties it gives up to their products.
The NOVAPEX Company sells also allylic alcohol, which is used for preparing organic glass, several perfumes and electrolytic bathes. Because of its high reactivity, this molecule is appreciated by Chemists, for use as a synthesis and cross-linking agent in polymerization.
